To scrap the maps please connect the device to the computer and then use this application to browse to where the maps are located and then you will have the possibility to delete them. This is the first solution. The other one involves removing the SD card from the device. Remove and connect it to the PC and then browse to the maps folder and delete the countries you don't use/need and that's it. Put it back and the maps should be gone forever.

TomTom Start is not available for PCs. In fact TomTom does not have an application you can install on PCs to use as if it were an actual GPS device.

Download TomTom HOME to your computer from the official web page and install it, then connect your device to the PC and turn it ON. The application will start automatically and if it doesn't check for updates by itself, go to Home menu and click Update my device. After the process is complete, select the available updates and click Download updates button. After that, press Done, select Device and click the Disconnect Device option.

You don't need to purchase a CD with TomTom HOME because it is a freeware application. You can visit Software Informer review page of the product in order to obtain a link to the official download. Click the Download button and save the file to your computer. If you need to copy the package on a memory stick you can right click on the file and to use Send To option.

You can change the volume from the Driving View or via voice recognition. In the Driving View, press the left pane from the navigation bar and adjust the volume slider. Your volume will be displayed as a percentage. To increase the volume via voice recognition, you must have a computer voice installed on your TomTom GO 740. If you have this feature installed you can say Increase Volume. To find more about this, you can check the official user manual.

In order to fix this issue, try to run the Clear Flash Tool three times in a row. Select your operating system, click the Download button and follow the provided instructions. If it doesn't help, press and hold the ON button until you hear the drum roll. In this way you will reset the device soft. Also, create a backup of your device, format its internal storage (Right-click TomTom navigation drive, press Format, select Fat32 as File System, un-check the Quick Format box and click Start) and go to to TomTom Home > Manage my device. Delete all data from the hard drive and try to update it. After that, restore your voices, post codes and maps. If the problem persists, make sure that your Windows Firewall and security program doesn't block the connection and update .NET components, Adobe Flash Player and Java to the latest versions.

My TomTom was stolen. Is there any way to be tracked either via police or Tom Tom site?

Unfortunately, TomTom devices do not transmit their location and it is impossible to track them. Check the official web page for further details.
